Tandem Trailer Trike (TTT) with Special Needs Support

The Tandem Trailer Trike is a tagalong system which offers great stability for riders in tandem and is supported using a backrest and lateral support system and strap pedals and can be configured with modified handlebars for those who require more stability support.

Using an innovative hitch and rear wheels available in 20" format, suitable for children and small adults, this is a versatile design for anyone wishing to ride in tandem without significant lateral movement. Tagalong design requires pilot bike. Can be ridden with mechanical or ebike as pilot. Must be ridden with care and at speeds below 10 km/hr. 

Backrest and lateral support with seat belt offers additional support for riders with special needs and pedal options include cage, exercise strap or heel cup pedals with or without levelling. Must be ridden considering the comfort and positioning of the rear wheels for the rear rider's comfort and safety.

Fully built and ready to ride

The TTT has been designed to give more stability than the traditional single wheel trailer bikes:

• Will tow with no side-to-side movement (taking care to ensure rider is safe and stable especially as they may not adjust position for 
• Is ideal for children or adults with a balance problem and special needs
• Has a rear axle drive shaft and rear axle hubs have sealed bearings, which give a quiet, smooth ride
• Has centre ridge tyres to complete the comfort
• Is ideal for long rides and family days out
• Fitted with backrest and side supports (lateral support) and seatbelts
• Can be modified with loop handlebar
• Can be fitted with strap or cage pedals and self-levelling adapters
• Should be ridden on flat roads and with due care when cornering or on camber as the trailer trike could roll over

Please note, when riding a tandem trailer trike, the trike behaves just like any other trike and the pilot rider needs to consider the impact of camber, cornering and cross slope risk.

The Tandem Trailer Trike comes in two sizes:

• 20″ wheel: Saddle to pedal 57-70cm (24.5-27.5″)  

Standard version has a bicycle saddle and standard pedals only.
